one of the UK's most renowned and influential Independent Financial
Advisers. We are ranked in the Top 50 by turnover.
The company has been established for over 35 years and currently
employs 120 people at offices in Leeds, Sheffield, York and Bishop
Auckland (County Durham). We have over 40 advisers, with the remainder
representing specialist staff and administrative support services. It
is very unusual to see such a high support ratio in Financial Services
and this indicates our focus on providing top quality ongoing service
and advice.
Many of our new clients come to us exclusively by recommendation,
either from existing clients or from a large network of professional
connections (primarily accountants and solicitors), who trust us to act
on behalf of their clients.
Our
research facilities are extensive and this provides our clients with
access to “best of breed” investments and products. Importantly this
research extends to all our clients historic investments, not just new
products we currently recommend. Most of these products and investments
are available at significant discounts to terms which other IFAs can
secure. This means that our clients tend to be able to buy investments
with advice at prices commonly available only via internet dealing
facilities.
We offer all our
clients the option of paying for our services by fee rather than
commission. Commission can be offset against fees if required as this
provides a VAT saving for individuals and trusts.
Our Pensions & Employee Benefits Division was formed
in order to provide a full range of consultancy and administration
services in that market. Our ethos of providing pragmatic and cost
effective solutions had meant that we have steadily increased our bank
of satisfied customers year on year and now look after in excess of 450
corporate clients.
Our Tax & Trust Department is unique in IFA firms in the UK. It
employs 13 staff who specialise in all aspects of accountancy and
taxation. Within the team we have qualified Chartered Accountants and
fully qualified STEP (Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners)
members. The department offers specialist advice on any area of
taxation and has staff specifically trained to draft Wills, establish
any type of Trust and deal with Probate work. Through our Trustee
Company, we currently manage around £300 million of assets in over 200
Trusts.
We
have a specialist Mortgage Department with two fully qualified
Consultants, dedicated to providing an excellent independent mortgage
broking and commercial lending service.
Pearson jones is a subsidiary of Skipton Building Society but
operates under its own autonomous Board of Directors. This provides our
clients with the benefit of a strong parent. Clients also have the
knowledge and benefit that decisions are made at local level by
Directors who never forget that ‘the client is king’ as most Directors
also have client responsibilities.
